Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990) review
Posted : 4 years, 10 months ago on 4 May 2019 08:14 (A review of Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990))I enjoyed it - my kind of background watch. I kind of wish the future was like this given the present is so lame. Film happens in the not-so-distant future after markets crash and gangs like the Rollerboys take control. Quite a few pieces in this relevant to today's state of affairs [2019].

Adventures in Babysitting review
Posted : 5 years ago on 10 March 2019 08:36 (A review of Adventures in Babysitting)I felt compelled to write review because the other ones I've read on here might put you off watching this. I really enjoyed this flick. It's a basic formula but done in a way that makes it pretty funny. Kids and adults alike can enjoy this just as long as you're not one for taking everything so seriously. Love the kids' performances, love Elisabeth Shue, it gives me people to root for and a little adventure to follow. Nice film to watch when chilling on a Sunday.l
My only caution is that for kids, there's a bit of foul language but hey, it was the 80s.
7/10.

Lad: A Yorkshire Story (2013) review
Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 21 August 2018 10:44 (A review of Lad: A Yorkshire Story (2013) )This film landed in my inbox so didn't know what to expect but was not disappointed. The film tells the moving story of a young boy, and those around him, coming to terms and handling the loss of a close one.
The film is well-paced and the dialog fits perfectly. Yes, *some* of the acting is a little fresh but it really doesn't take anything away from the film. The film is sensitive, honest and touching.
The setting is great and the director does a good job of showing off a bit of northern England.
Check the tags and if they resonate with you then it's definitely worth a watch.
